Partido Kalikasan (PK), an emerging national GREEN political party currently operating in 15 bioregional areas nationwide from Cordillera to Northern Mindanao warmly welcomes Comelec en banc Resolution 8743 allowing Nicanor Perlas to run for President in the 2010 elections.

As early as end of August, PK leadership have already resolved to explore the possibility of an alliance between PK and Nicky's political group on the basis of strong parallelism and synergy between our political agenda.

In the light of decisive political actions that is now necessary to confront the many environmental problems that our communities face; with the ill effects of climate change being on top of this list, we believe that we need a leadership that can galvanize our society to survive these problems and bring genuine sustainability to our development to resolve the root causes of poverty and lack of peace.

Nicky is being supported by a growing nationwide movement of local green groups and other community stakeholders under the leadership of PANGMASA, a political movement for new politics.

During the time Comelec was considering his petition to be allowed to run, various Green Parties from such countries as Australia and France also sent their letters of support for his candidacy.

hello campers!

hope everyone is doing well and good. :)

I had been dating a girl I really liked for a little over four months. When it suddenly ended, I was devastated. So I came up with a list, with some help from friends and teens across the country, to help you know if you’re finally over your ex. Although many things on this list are hard to do, they will help. And so will time.. it heals all wounds.

1. You no longer listen to depressing music while eating tubs of ice cream. The first couple of days after a break.up are the worst. You feel sorry for yourself and listen to depressing “emo” music while crying over junk food.

2. You no longer talk to your ex’s friends to find out what s/he’s doing. Nobody knows your ex better than his/her friends. You’ve probably become closer to them through your ex, but resist the urge to ask them about him/her.

3. You no longer dig up old voicemails and e-mails and reminisce. Although it’s tempting to save all those mushy “I love you” voicemails/e.mails that remind you of the good ‘ole days, they really need to go. The more things you save that remind you of your ex, the harder it will be to get over him/her.

4. You no longer find yourself talking about your ex with your friends. S/he used to be all that you would talk about with your friends, but lately you’ve started talking about other stuff.

5. You no longer go out of your way to see your ex in the halls or in a favorite hangout spot. Admit it. In those first couple of weeks, you’d just “happen” to wind up at him/her hangout spots or find yourself driving past his/her house. Again, resist the urge.

6. You no longer check his/her away messages every 10 minutes. It’s enticing to check the away message to see if your ex wrote anything about you or song lyrics that describe a (hopefully depressed) mood, but in order to get over the break.up, stop checking!

7. You no longer talk loudly about other guys/girls around your ex, hoping they hear and become jealous. It’s tempting to show your ex that you are over the relationship, even if you’re not. Bad idea. This can create hard feelings or, worse, reveal that you’re putting on an act. When you stop caring what your ex thinks about your life, you can move on.

8. You go out on a date with someone else, have a good time, and manage not to think about your ex for a good three hours! It’s hard to think about going out with someone else when you’re so hung up on your ex. But many times, seeing someone new takes your mind off your ex—and sparks a new friendship or relationship.

9. You hear s/he is seeing someone else, and you’re not upset. The most dreaded fallout of breaking up is that your ex will find someone new. But if you can relate to many of the situations on this list, hearing that your ex is dating someone else may not be as unbearable as you had originally thought.

10. You finally take your ex off your buddy list—for good. This may be one of the hardest things to do. Erasing your ex’s screen name means you cannot see his or her away messages or profile. Remember, out of sight, out of mind!

it helps! TRY!

CAMP DETAILS

This weekend’s camp will be at Pundaquit, Zambales. It just so happens that the Geminids meteor shower will be peaking this Friday, which will make for an excellent stargazing experience come Saturday night. Comet Holmes is also still visible, so you might want to bring your binoculars. :D

Assembly is 5:30 A.M., Jollibee Philcoa. I’m volunteering transpo for this campout, pero hati-hati tayo sa gas :D 350/person ang patak. Meron pa pong 1 vacant seat sa transpo so kung gusto nyo pa pong humabol eh magreply dito, mag-email sa group, o di kaya’y itext or iym ang inyong lingkod.

Individual items checklist can be found in the files section of our yahoogroups, at ieemail ko rin shortly. Lahat po ng group items natin save for dishwashing materials ay naasikaso na. Meron po tayong tents pero it's always a good idea to bring your own hammock. Meron din akong tape deck adapter so bring your cd players or ipods.

Meal assignments: featured chef ang arrangement natin ngayon. Each member of the contingent will be responsible for one meal. Tetext ko na lang kayo.

On top of our meal assignments everybody must bring stove fuel, a pringles can's worth of rice, two eggs, and your favorite soup/mami.

Gesture of goodwill: while hiwalay tayo sa meals, maaassign tayong lahat individually sa mga groups ng camping class as junior counselors. Kasama dito ang magluto ng isang side dish or dessert para sa Saturday night dinner ng grupo nyo. Last campout S'mores ang ginawa namin; another good idea might be deep-fried Oreos.

LANTERN PARADE COOKOUT

Everybody is invited to our 1st annual lantern parade cookout. Potluck tayo. Magdadala daw ng lechong manok si Sir. December 19, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. sa tambayan. See you there :D

Malamang me nakalimutan ako, ifofollow-up ko na lang.

Over and out,
Kenneth

First things first, lahat ng members na sasama sa campout this weekend please get in touch with me on ym (kennethcardenas) tonight meron tayong adjustment na kelangang ang input ninyo

Second, to all members: tuloy pa rin po ang tambay hours natin, andun kami talaga ng Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 p.m. onward. Occasionally dumadaan din ang Campout Superstar Sir Lee of Sir Lee & the Brown Briefs Fame.

Nagaaya din si Sir ng GA/Party sa tambayan habang lantern parade, which is Wednesday 19 December :D

CAMP DETAILS FOLLOW

Meal assignments: as agreed upon in our pre-camp, each member is required to bring the following:

1 Pringles can’s worth of rice. Please make sure to SEAL the can properly

2 eggs, packed inside the can

3 canned goods

6 liters of water

2 packs instant mami

Next time bawal na de lata ah dapat matuto tayong magluto :D think of it as a learning experience.

Pogi points package: I was thinking na dapat meron tayong gesture of friendship sa current students ni Sir Dizer—say, a side dish or dessert sa final meal (lunch on Sunday). Any suggestions? So far ang suggestion eh corn and carrots at deep-fried oreos

Please take into consideration na ako na ata yung pinaka-marunong magluto sa contingent natin, at sa lagay na to nakasunog pa rin ako ng kanin

Group items

Cookset

Kaldero (ako nang bahala - Kenneth)

            Kawali

            Syanse (spelling?)

Bolo

Housekeeping items – panglinis ng kinainan

Katol – dragon kung umusowk lamowk seyguradong teypowk

Clothing considerations

Cold weather – kung dito pa lang malamig na malamang sa tuktok pa ng bundok

Swimwear

Cogon lines the trail, so sleeves and pants kung sensitive ang kutis nyo

Sunblock at sunglasses – again hindi gubat yung trail so walang shade

Individual items

Medicine

Plate and utensils

Swiss army knife or any multitool

Sewing kit

Trash bags

Trail water

Trail food

2x bote ng lighter fluid

Camera

Attn sa mga pupunta ng 15-16, pre camp will be on the 11th. Tuesday, 4 p.m., sa tambayan.

See you sa summit

Kenneth

Also, the PRE-CLIMB will be held this Tuesday 4-6pm at the TAMBAYAN. If you still haven't heard, it's the yellow table at the eng'g side of the main lib nearest the sunken garden.
To those who were assigned "babies" please get their confirmation immediately. Please forward the needed information through this email, my cel or Y! messenger.

Dahil may coup, cold front, lindol at iba pang samu't saring trahedya, meron tayong slight adjustments sa schedule. Campouts are rescheduled for December 8-9 and 15-16 (instead of 1-2 and 8-9).

December 8-9 campout will be at the newly-blazed Mount Tangisan trail in Tarlac, which means that you would be among the first in the country to experience this climb and the spectacular views it offers--that is, kung game ka :D

PRE-CLIMB WILL BE NEXT WEEK, DECEMBER 4, TUESDAY, 4 P.M. SA TAMBAYAN
(see previous entry)

15-16 will be at our old stomping grounds, Pundakit, Zambales, but we'll be camping overnight at the nearby postcard-perfect Anawangin Cove.

Campers' Christmas Party/Yearplanning is POSTPONED to January of next year.

Yun lang, for the moment--
Kenneth

Hindi pa hammered out ang lahat ng detalye pero meron na po tayong matatambayan. Ito po ang dilaw na table na matatagpuan sa eng'g side ng main lib. Tambay starts this Tuesday, Nov 27, 4 pm, and there will be regular tambay hours every Tuesday and Thursday, 4 onwards, although you are more than welcome to tambay anytime you want. Meron pong wi-fi signal courtesy of the Main Lib hotspots, ventilation, kalapit na tindahan, at mababait na stray cats. Resident pogi Paul Libo-on will be on hand to initiate you into the game of ultimate disc, so bring sports attire if you're interested.

Also, meron din po tayong dalawang climb this December! Climbs will be on December 1-2 and 8-9. As is standard practice, the climbs can be had for less than 500 (and may even be free!) for Campers, depending on demand. Meron na pong nagsign up na dalawa sa 1-2, at tatlo sa 8-9. Sa Tarlac po ang 1-2, and sa Zambales ang 8-9; further details will be discussed this Tuesday, so if you're interested, see you there.

There will also be a Christmas party which will be on December 15-16, where we will also lay out our road map for 2008. This will be an out-of-town, overnight trip to a resort. This is a very important activity, and attendance is highly encouraged. Wag kayo mag-alala sa gastos, we're gunning for it to be as cheap as possible :D Stay tuned for further details.

Over and out,
Kenneth

Natiempohan ko rin si Dizer kanina bago siya umuwi. Marami siyang plans for acitivities starting next month, up to next year. Medyo long-ranging to, people--if we pull this off, marami tayong maaaccomplish. In real terms:

-yearplanning for 2008 sometime in December, a cheap (500 below ang target natin) out-of-town, overnight trip

-new destinations for his camping classes; may two trips bago mag-end ang 2007!

-tambayan TAMBAYAN

-new planned activities:
  • kite building/flying
  • weekly fun runs and picnics
  • weekend daytrips, leading to a compilation ng destination information (think Lonely Planet, except ikaw yung traveler/nagsusulat tapos magagamit natin pag nagpplan ng activities)

-fundraising and promotions
  • organizing orienteering races
  • KITE WEEK 2008--picture a kite festival sa sunken, habang amihan, tapos may malalaking     kites na may logo natin :D by next year eleventy billion na yung aplikante

-recognition with the national mountaineering and outdoor body

-equipment

Lahat yan ididiscuss natin sa Wednesday. It's likely na mag-foform din tayo ng working groups to come up with ideas for activities and plans for implementation, so pag-isipan nyo na kung san malakas ang creative powers nyo :D

In all honesty I feel good about how it's going--very concrete, very tangible yung mga ididiscuss natin sa Wednesday.

So if you like the idea na marami kang summit sunsets, every other weekend may buhangin sa sandals mo tas yung hinihinga mong hangin hindi lasang diesel, not to mention lumalaki yung library ng mga alam mong baduy na kanta sa videoke--

e di tara :D

PLEASE MARK NOVEMBER 17-18 ON YOUR CALENDERS... right NOW.

In light of our failed attempts of climbing a mountain this sembreak, Bomika Outdoors will be hosting an open climb this coming November 17-18, 2007. It will be in Mt. Tangisan, Tarlac. The budget will be 750Php per head, inclusive of transportation(yes, aircon bus), 4 meals, group equipment(stove & tents). So, pretty much we don't need to worry about a thing. HOWEVER, we still need to attend the pre-climb because it will be no lame ass field trip. Meal planning and other important reminders will take place. I will also arrange for our group to be together if you are worried about that. ;)

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!! Do attend! Let's KICK-OFF the 2nd Semester with a bang! It will be considered as an induction climb for those who are interested. It's only the start of the semester so im assuming you haven't made any commitments to other things yet. Prioritize, prioritize. If you really want it, go make sure of it. I promise it will be a fun as well as challenging experience for everyone. Invite everyone! Invite all! This is the best time to invite your friends to go join the org!

Please email me, call me, text me, leave a message for me, CONTACT ME! for those interested, it will be best if you let me know ASAP so i can make this a smooth ride for everyone, okay? :)
